MIT Taxi driver is the application of the Municipality of Milan, developed by Fastweb in collaboration with Interactive Media, dedicated to taxi drivers and introduced concurrently with the launch of the single number 02.7777. The APP allows the taxi driver to receive and manage calls coming from the MilanoInTaxi system. This is the great opportunity offered by MilanoInTaxi, a method that retires the old yellow columns and replaces them with an innovative technological system, which autonomously directs the requests to taxi stands to the nearest free taxi compared to the call, improving the service both for the user than for the taxi driver. MilanoInTaxi gives taxi drivers the possibility to better manage their work, providing a constantly updated picture of requests and reducing waiting times, without additional costs for managing the service. This also guarantees the user a potential economic savings thanks to the possibility of using the nearest vehicle.
